Who we are
The studio’s heritage lies in Amsterdam and the nearby Zaanstreek, a region, known for its innovative spirit and ‘get the job done’ mentality, once the historic ‘motor’ that drove the success of the epic Dutch Golden Age. In the Zaanstreek, painters, woodworkers, carpenters, masons and other master craftsmen became entrepreneurs and tastemakers as early as the 15th century. Building on this heritage, a practical outlook combined with the spirit of creative expertise, Studio Piet Boon was established by Dutch designer and Zaanstreek local Piet Boon (1958) in 1983.
What we do
We consider every design as tailor-made and unique. Understanding our clients; their wishes, requirements and lifestyle, forms the foundation for success. We start with an extensive client intake, considering how our clients live, spend their time, and their personal tastes. This allows us to harmonize our characteristic signature with the personality of our client. Our total design approach consists of four phases in which we guide our clients from Preliminary and Definitive Sketch Design, Fixed Furniture, Aesthetic Lighting Plan, Non-fixed Furniture and Upholstery to on-site Styling. The exterior and interior designs combine functionality, aesthetics and individuality, reinforcing the unique balanced signature of Studio Piet Boon.
How we work
Our range of works include exterior and interior design, lay-out, fitted and non-fitted furniture, finishes, lighting schemes and on-site styling.
Our vision
Since 1983, our firmly rooted design values have met new challenges and are always evolving. These values shape every design vision and decision. Our creative process is built upon this foundation, ensuring consistency in whatever project and design we take on.
